Join Terri in this fun, uplifting, and experiential class which will assist you in freeing your voice and teach you how to use your voice as a powerful healing instrument.  In our meeting, we will create vibrant healing resonances, explore new soundscapes as a community, and liberate our voices and bodies, all while releasing our “inner critics.”  This class will provide a safe container for vocal play and exploration and will honor and encourage the unique, authentic expression of your voice, even if you don’t consider yourself to be a “singer.”  No previous musical experience is required!

Class Outline:

1. “Healing Intention-Setting” Guided Meditation

2. Humming for Health Exercise

3. Vocal Toning around the Group Circle

4. Qigong Movement with the Six Healing Sounds

5. Free-form “Angel Singing” as a Community with a Singing Bowl

6. Primal Chanting and Movement with Rhythm Instruments (instruments provided but group can bring their own)

Benefits of Vocal Toning:

When used with nurturing intention, vocal toning can assist in fostering vibrant well-being.  In fact, scientific research has shown that simple vocal exercises such as “humming” and “toning” can have many beneficial physiological effects such as:

• Increased oxygen in the cells

• Lowered blood pressure and heart rate

• Increased levels of melatonin

• Reduced levels of stress-related hormones

• Release of endorphins

• Increased levels of nitric oxide, a molecule associated with the promotion of healing

• Release of oxytocin, the “trust” hormone
